Merely postponing the inevitable

Slip on the ice again

Samus is inked and colored. Fixed some things, and tried a new way of coloring (but you'll probably not be able to see any differece from how I usually do it).

I'll post it on deviantart later, or right now. Soon. Ish. NOW!

Are you going to bed or am I grabbing another beer?

Sketched Zero Suit Samus while listening to Skwerl and Racoon talk on ustream.

I'll ink and color this later today, probably. And fix up everything that's wrong.

No one sees my effort

Well. I'm just gonna dump some stuff in this post.

I know there's a lot of crap there, but whatever. I'm still trying to get a hang on anatomy.
I drew the ninja girl naked (i.e. with details), but censored it - I don't want to get flag for objectionable content. Her bosom is probably a bit on the large side with regards to how young she looks, and that boy looks a bit young for his body too. It doesn't really matter, though. I'm just trying stuff out.

Don't forget to bring a towel!

Let's hope this guy's not in the same locker room as the little girl from before.

WHY is it so hard to draw male anatomy with a lot of muscles? :( However, I feel I'm learning stuff from picture to picture, and even more so by not using image references for the poses and such.

I didn't put that much of effort into the head and face in this one.

EDIT: Yes, I'm aware of the tangent between his right thumb and thigh. I just don't caaaaaaaaaaareeee.

Begging to if you seek Amy

I kinda like that song. God help me. Anyway.

Another nude girl. Sketch. It started as a wolverine sketch, but I realized male anatomy just isn't as fun to draw, and doing muscles is as hard as... wolverines... muscles.

Bad analogy, sorry.

Figure sketches

I did some figure sketches this morning to practice more on anatomy. I should get into the habit of doing this every day.

It’s been awhile since I actually drew on paper, and I have this bad habit of drawing way too small. The first sketch, top left, is barely six centimetres high. I used a photo of Rachel Bilson to reference the pose on it, but kept my traditional 1:5 head body ratio.

(I usually draw the head to body ratio somewhere between 1:3 and 1:6, cause I think it fits my cartoony style and… well, I just like it. I want focus on the heads and the emotions).

The sketch to the right is just a male… thing. No references, 1:5 ratio (which is why he might look a bit stumpy). I need to learn more about muscles.

The third, big one, is at 1:8 ratio – attractive proportioning. I wanted to do a more realistic body. The pose was referenced from one of my artsy books I’ve got lying around.

The secret of Kells

This looks awesome.

It looks like a mix between Krahulik/Tartakovsky/McCracken/Silver… well, I could go on name dropping awesome people like that, but I think you get my point. I really want to see it.

All in wait

So I heard you like nude girls and nipple slips.

I'm really trying hard to learn anatomy, and I've come to learn that drawing nude people is the best way. Clothes just get in the way. In all fairness, I tried to cover her up as much as possible, but her arm wasn't enough. At least I had the decency to give her some socks.

Mostly cause I didn't want to draw feet, though.

Blackbeard

Krishna challenged everybody at Twitter to do some character design for a pirate called Blackbeard. This is my submission, so far.

Holmes

Used a picture of Katie Holmes as reference for this, which you might be able to tell. I wasn't really trying to make her look like Katie all that much though.
