I drew this a couple of days ago, as a continue of my practice with a more realistic style, in ink. It's Mike's birthday today, so I thought it fitting that it'd be posted today. It's not much, and it's certainly not the best so far, but I still think I'm learning.

I was gonna drew more Twitter-people and friends, but I've only done random stuff. So that's what you get today.



The man was just me trying to draw something more realistic without looking at a photo reference. And I made a more cartoonie version next to him.

More ink sketches today, I'm doing one every night for practice. Cause I DO need the practice.

I wanted to draw people I know more, so I started with Bob. If it wasn't for the fact that he's twice as fat as in real life, this would've been a good drawing.



Damn that annoys me.

It's better I guess. There's always a few things that bugs me, but once it's inked I can't really do anything about it.

Third attempt at this. I don't ink using brush and liquid ink, so the hair got really redundant. I ended up just blocking in where all the black should be, basically.

Oh my God, forgive me for who I'm not

I've been trying to learn something new.




Keyword being "learn". It'll get better and better, anatomy's still such a bitch.

I watched Der Untergang and finally got some inspiration to draw something again, if only a sketch. Hitler looked like a very tired and grumpy old man, and kinda... funny actually, in his long jacket and big hat. And I wanted to capture that.

The Secret of Kells

I've finally watched The Secret of Kells.



Wow. Just, wow. I mean wow. The artwork in this movie is just beautiful. No, it's more than beautiful, it's stylized, brilliant and gorgeous.



I love everything about it, the colour, backgrounds, character design. Everything works perfect together.



It's like something from a children book. Mixed with the artwork from the actual book of kells. With traces of Stephen Silver, Genndy Tartakovsky, Jeffery Agala, Craig McCracken, Mike Krahulik... I could go on and name drop all my favorite artist actually. 



But I don't need to. Just LOOK at it.

I've TOTALLY gotten my computer now, and it's pretty damn awesome. Pics will come as soon as I move out of my sister's room, and into... where ever I'm supposed to put it. I haven't decided yet. Anyways, Ustreaming is a real treat now, these two were both inked and coloured while streaming.

Turning to cruel sources

Colored my weird, half naked, slave girl... thing. I actually inked it with the intent to try a entirely different way of coloring. Which I did:



I suck at this, kinda. But I can tell that it CAN look good, I just need to practice that particular way of coloring. The problem is I need to do it in Photoshop. I'm not used to coloring in Photoshop. And I don't know how to go about in the process, the way I shaded this one was very tedious, and the end result was terrible viewed in 100%.

By the way, I've ordered a brand new computer. So I'm hoping that I'll soon be able to work without lag and all that. I dream about being able to ustream properly.

The thought of my premature burial

Remember when I said the singer in Creature Feature was cool? You should, it was only one post ago. I'll admit I have somewhat of a man-crush on him now, he has that certain handsomeness that only a select few succeeds at pulling off. Gris Grimly does it. And now, as said, Curtis RX too.

I tried to capture him in a drawing:



I may or may not ink and color this later. The problem is that he fits very well in this sketchy style. We'll see (I write that a bit too often, I know. Shuddup)

So I finally drew sister Sofie. She ordered me to, and you never turn down an order from a sister.

I just HAVE to update with this awesome video by Creature Feature (which I can't get enough of now, even though it's not "my type of music"). I mean, come on. A song made up of horror references, mostly to Edgar Allan Poe? OF COURSE it's awesome.



And the singer is pretty DAMN cool.

It gets so lonely being evil

I'm a proud member of the #TWITTERBOOKCLUBOFAWESOMESAUCE. We're reading American Gods. In it, Odin, the God of Gods makes an appearance. Granted he doesn't look like I've pictured Odin here above, but the mere notion of him made me want to draw him.

I have a lot of shit sketches for you today. The first three ones are drawn in my school sketch book thing, and the digital once are mostly things I've drawn while doing something else, like say, listened to an audio book. I almost always draw the awesome face when I'm bored, obviously. 

I've also practiced drawing noses and mouths.
